Abstract

When it comes to potential targets of cyberattacks, the healthcare industry ranks high. As healthcare shifts to digitally connected healthcare services and is growing substantially, cybercriminals are constantly striving to take benefit of security deficiencies and loopholes. Due to technological enhancements, several threatening cyber threats, such as ransomware, are already obtainable to the medical field. The prevalence of ransomware, a cyberattack those targets businesses and individual individuals, has recently grown due to its beneficial effects. Over the past several years, it conflicts have considerably improved. The report provides an extensive investigation of ransomware assaults and offers solutions. This study's primary objective is to categorize the approaches used to protect the health sector from malware attacks, such as SDN, Blockchain, ML, and other tools. Additionally, it hopes to bring attention to the many obstacles researchers face while attempting to identify an alternative to ransomware threats on public healthcare infrastructure. Additionally, the research will help scientists working in the fields of health institutions, security firms, and information security experts
