The Faculty of Computer Applications is one of the most vibrant departments of Marwadi Education Foundation provides ample opportunities for students to know the current happenings of the IT Industry. In order to make this happen the department frequently invites industrialists and scholars from all part of the world.
Recently during 10-11 February 2014 a visit by one of the scientists Dr. Pinnamaneni Bhanu Prasad has created an ignition in young students minds. Dr. Bhanu Prasad, a french citizen is associated with Matrix Vision GmbH, Germany as a vision Specialist. He has got a good number of research publications in his credit and has widely traveled in many countries for the establishment of Machine Vision Labs.
In his two-day visit to Marwadi he has narrated salient features of two leading technologies, Machine Vision and Augmented Reality. He has also given demonstration of approximately 150 real time projects which would be the need of the market for the next 10 years to come. Approximately 400 Students from MCA and Engineering attended the above program and got enriched. During the second day, approximately 50 Students presented their grand ideas that can be materialized into projects for market need.
As a part of this workshop there was also a demonstration by Mr. Sanjay Patel of M/s. Shubham Automation Ahmedabad, who has brought his tool kit to demonstrate Machine Vision Applications.
Dr. R. Sridaran Dean of Faculty of Computer Applications, who has arranged this workshop said that a Proposal to start a research and incubation center under the advice of Dr. Bhanu Prasad is in pipeline and if it is materialized, it would hopefully bring a revolution in the Saurashtra Region of Gujarat.
