Industrial Visit at BISAG (Bhaskaracharya Institute of Space Applications and Geoinformatics) – Gandhinagar by InfoTainment Club of MCA Department, MEFGI
InfoTainment Club of Faculty of Computer Application at Marwadi Education Foundation recently organized an Industrial Visit @ BISAG (Bhaskaracharya Institute of Space Applications and Geoinformatics) – Gandhinagar.
BISAG is a State level nodal agency to facilitate the use of spatial and geo- spatial technologies for the planning and developmental activities pertaining to Agriculture, Land and Water Resource Management, Wasteland/Watershed Development, Forestry, Disaster Management, Infrastructure and Education.
95 Students participated in the visit and understood the functioning of satellite and how BISAG studio works in order to go for live telecasting with the help of various satellites. Visit was organized mainly into two sections as follows
1) Communication Satellite Studio
- How live studio works (lectures / meetings)
- How audio and video mixing is done / how live telecast is done
2) Seminar Room / Software Section
- Launching of first and other Indian satellite
- How satellite education works and linking of various satellites
- Types of scanners (Mainframe, Push Broom and WHISH Broom)
- Different types of satellite images with various types of sensors
- Overview of Remote Sensing
