Goal:

The College has envisaged and has been implementing effective online system for students’ Progress Monitoring, Academic Audit, Faculty Daily Tasks, HR Policies and Procedures, Library Resources, and eAssessment, which enables the institution to precisely monitor and contribute towards overall development of students and faculty as well as for smooth administration.

The following are the objectives of the system:

Goal:

To create employable and better citizens of Nation, focusing on overall development encompassing engineering knowledge and simultaneously nurturing soft skills, empathy leadership qualities and positive attitude.
To motivate faculty to become life-long learners and impart skills for teaching.

The Context:

Unlike other institutes, MEFGI focuses on overall development of life skills. The soft skills and attitude are 2 prime qualities for today's millennials. For this, we have separate verticals for 'TRAINING & PLACEMENT' and 'THE LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT CENTER' are created to conduct training programs stressing on imparting soft skills, positive attitude, team spirit and leadership training. Faculty development programs (FDP) are organized to enhance the pedagogical skills which help them 'sharpen the saw'.

The Practice:

For overall development of students the concept of 3600 education is commenced from first semester by introducing the extra classes for soft skills in regular time table. Beyond this, as the student is moving to higher semesters corner workshops, Special Interest Group (SIG), Group Discussion, Mock Personal Interview etc. are arranged. Faculty Development Programs (FDP) are organized to make faculties aware about outcome base education, student concentric learning system and engineering attributes. The major points of entire system are as following:

Proficiency in English (up to sem-3) to improve communication skills of students.
Campus 2 Corporate (C2C) and Career Readiness Program (CRP) classes (semester 4 to 7) for soft skill development in students.
National level employability assessment tests like ‘Cocube’, ‘Amcat’ are arranged and based on the result analysis, improvement programs in areas of concern are designed.
Organizing three levels of Faculty development program of 2 days each. (FDP-I, FDP-II & FDP-III)
Motivating students and staff-members by awarding meritorious student award, highest (student) feedback faculties award, and star performer in FDP award.

Problems Encountered And Resources Required:

PROBLEM: Arrangement of Faculty Development Program (FDP) during academic sessions was a great problem due to load adjustment for 30 faculties at a time.
SOLUTION IMPLEMENTED: The FDP is arranged during student holidays/exam slots.
