Key Snapshot of Professor Yogeshwar Kosta


Professor Yogeshwar Kosta received his education in Science, Technology and Project Management from Dayalbaugh Educational Institute, Delhi University and Stanford University respectively. He earned his doctorate degree in telecommunication engineering (Antennas and Microwave Circuits) from Jabalpur University in 1998 while working as a scientist with Indian Space Research Organization (SAC-ISRO) – Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India.


During his scientific and technical career, starting 1992, spanning a decade, Dr. Yogeshwar worked for the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) in India, and Teledyne Wireless an MNC in the Silicon Valley-USA as a key member (design engineer) of engineering projects of national and international importance, working on front-end technologies and high impact value business products. In 2003 he shifted to engineering education.


His key engineering project assignments include, design, development and space qualification of KU-band communication payloads for the INSAT satellite project at SAC-ISRO, Ahmedabad, and design and development of MMIC and RFIC’s for wireless applications at Teledyne Wireless, California, USA.


In 2003 he joined the engineering education landscape and since then he is working as a professor of electronics and telecommunication engineering. Presently, he is the Director-Technical Campus (2011 onwards), of Marwadi Education Foundation’s Group of Institutions (MEFGI) located at Rajkot, Gujarat, India.

MEFGI is a technical campus, comprising of 7 institutes, offering degree engineering program (3 institutes with UG and PG), MCA program (3 year and 5 years integrated dual degree program), Management programs (MBA, PGDM, and 5 years integrated dual degree program) and Architecture (B.Arc) programs. More than 6500+ students are taking education and 450+ full-time and 100+ visiting faculty deliver education.


His scientific and academic interests are varied and multidisciplinary. They span to include areas such as Humanitarian technology, Antennas, RFIC’s, Satellite & Space-bourn Systems, Wireless communication, Microwave technology, Nanoscience, Biology, Medicine, Arts, and Engineering education.

Other educational interests and activities include promoting scientific and engineering education amongst students, conducting engineering awareness programs such as workshops and seminars to high school students. Since 2004, he has been delivering free career guidance seminars and scientific talks to schools in Gujarat and public platforms.

He has served as an expert member in AICTE and various universities– BOG, BOS, Paper setter and examiner. He was also an expert faculty at the United Nations PG Program on SATCOM – a 2 years program conducted by ISRO.


Dr. Yogeshwar has pioneered a new concept design structure for MEFGI (www.marwadieducation.edu.in).


Dr. Yogeshwar has published more than 120+ research papers (Growing Google scholar citation indices: h-index: 10, and i-10 index: 10) in the areas of science, technology, education, and management in conferences and journals of good standing. He has written and published 4 books on engineering and education.

Dr. Yogeshwar has successfully completed scientific projects of good standing and impact from ISRO-SAC. More than 20 students have registered for Ph.D under his supervision and guidance, and 8 research scholars have been awarded Ph.D degrees from various universities including NIT. Dr. Yogeshwar has filed 7 patents (ISRO-5 + NIT-1) in the field of antennas and software science (CIT-C - 1).


Dr. Yogeshwar is associated with IEEE since the last 13 years; presently he is Chair, IEEE – Gujarat Section and senior member of IEEE. He was the chapter chair of Humanitarian Technology and SMC of IEEE-Gujarat Section (2013 and 2014). He is an active member of many professional societies and associations like IETE, IEEE, SMC-IEEE, CSI, ISTE, IE, etc. (Google to know more...).


Dr. Yogeshwar has constantly delivered invited talks in workshops, seminars, conferences, and professional societies/bodies, companies, and educational institutions – public and private.


Dr. Yogeshwar is recipient of many awards and honours’ from professional institutes, communities and societies.
