Electrical engineering department of the Marwadi Education Foundation’s Group of Institution, Rajkot, has organized a workshop on Smart Grid on 30th of July. This workshop was the first to be organized with the banner of the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET). The workshop started in presence of Dr. Sarang Pande, Dean of PG studies, MEFGI, HODs, Dr. Jignesh Makwana and Prof. Amit Ved. Dr. Sarang Pande had flagged off the Workshop by welcome the guest speaker and addressing the audience.
An eminent engineer from IBM, Mr. Vikram Sankhe, who had been country manager for analytics and IoT for Energy and Utilities, with deep experience about working on smart grid and internet of things (IoT), has given interactive and informative talk. Mr. Vikrhant Sankhe is endorsed by IET and a certified charter engineer.
Later, Dr. Pushkar Tripathi, a senior faculty member of electrical engineering, MEFGI, has also explained basics and fundamental role of smart grid to transform a city to smart city. Final year and pre final year electrical engineering students were main participants in the workshop. The workshop lasted for more than half a day. End of the workshop students expressed their content and excitement of knowing the development happening in industrial with regard to grid system at power distribution level.
Nearly 85 participants that includes final BE student, pre final BE students and few PG students. The overall feedback of the students was positive and demanded many more workshops like this one time to time.
