Most of the youngsters love watching movies in general and English movies in particular. Hence, the opportunity to express their love for movies was given. As a part of English Day celebration at Marwadi University on Monday, October, 03, 2016 Department of Communication Skills invited the entries for Movie Review Presentation. In all there were 16 entries for Movie Review Presentation out of which 7 made their presentations on the English Day. The participants were given rules and regulation along with the list of movies to choose for the review.

The details of the instructions are as follows:

Instructions and Criteria of Evaluation:

• 1) Each participant was to speak for 5 minutes (maximum)
• 2) Participants could use PPTs/Prezies (maximum 5 slides)
• 3) The movie had to be selected from the given list
• 4) The road map used for the presentation was as follows:
  • Title - Intro (Slide 1)
  • Favorite character – why it’s your favorite character? (Slide 2)
  • Most interesting dialogue – why it’s most interesting dialogue? (Slide 3)
  • Most interesting scene – why it’s most interesting scene? (Slide 4)
  • One thing you wish to correct/replace/alter the end of the film (Slide 5)
• 5) The presentations were evaluated on the basis of: [Total marks: 30]

  • (Content) Organization (5)
  • Mastery of the subject (5)
  • Visual Aids (5)
  • Overall impression (5)

 

Time and Venue:

The event was held at MA306 from 9am to 11am on October 03, 2016.

 

Judges:

Mr. Paras Rughani, a faculty of Master of Business Administration and Ms. Anviksha Shulka, a faculty of the Department of Communication Skills, were the judges of the event. Based on the aforesaid criteria the presentations of participants were evaluated and a winner and a runner up were short listed at the end. The judges also gave their feedback and guidance to the participants for the future endeavors before announcing the results.

 

The Results:

On the basis of the given criteria the winner and the runner up were shortlisted as follows:

2) Anand Parmar, Mechanical Engineering, Semester – 3, Faculty of Engineering, MEFGI
