Robotic Contest (ROBOCON) is the biggest Asian robotics event organized by ABU (Asia-pacific Broadcasting Union) and its member countries including Doordasrshan (Prasarbharati) of India. ROBOCON is organized every year in different countries and with different themes. ABU ROBOCON India, is an Indian contest of the International ROBOCON event. In the competition, the designed robots have to compete so as to complete a given task within a set period of time. This year the theme was about Japanese traditional game "Tosenkyo". The theme revolves around the word “asobi” (play), which is also a fundamental philosophy behind ROBOCON.

The students of Marwadi Universiy gathered together from a motley of engineering branches to form a team so as to participate in ROBOCON 2017 - India. All kinds of instruments and machines indispensable for the purpose of designing of a robot, such as - CNC, VMC, MIG welding, TIG welding, Lathe, welding, drilling machines, etc., were made available by the Marwadi University. They designed, fabricated, programmed and tested a high performance robot as per the competition’s criteria. Marwadi University provided them with the desired aid and assistance of all kinds. Students were guided well by a sundry of professors, so that they can innovate and excel in creative thinking, thereby, demonstrating their technical ideas in the field of robotics.
