Department of Electrical Engineering have organized two day Industrial visit at "Sardar Sarovar Dam,Kevadiya Colony, Nurmada " for third year students of Electrical Engineering class 4EE1 & 4EE2 on 07.03.2018.
Prof. Dhiraj Shrimali and Prof.Ronak Doshi accompanied with the student as a faculty coordinator during the visit.
The Sardar Sarovar Dam, The hydropower is generated through the River bed power house (RBPH) and Canal Head Power House (CHPH). The RBPH which is located about 165meters downstream of the dam .It has six number of Francis type reversible turbine generators each of 200 MW installed capacity. The CHPH is a surface power station in a saddle dam on the right bank of the reservoir having installed capacity of 250 MW (5 x 50 MW).
Visit is related to generation of hydro power plant, student learnt about hydro turbine used in Canal Head Power House (CHPH) and River Bad Power House (RBPH). Also they visited Statue of Unity.
