Detail Description:
Electrical Engineering department organized one day seminar on “CONDITION MONITORING AND FAULT DIAGNOSIS OF ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS", which was sponsored by GUJCOST.
This seminar focused on the basics and advancements in techniques of assessing the condition of the electrical machines and its components. Several large, bulky and heavy electrical systems such as power transformer, rotating machines and circuit breakers are required to monitor their condition in order to avoid damage and enable to take preventive measures. Experts highlighted techniques of acquiring conditioning data from various electrical systems by demonstrating software and hardware tools and concept analysis. This seminar offered an opportunity to UG and PG students to learn and advance their knowledge which can be used in final year project/ dissertation or independent.
Seminar held on 8th March 2019 by the department, started at 9:00am. Different prominent speakers were invited from different institutes/industries - IIT, Government College, GETCO. Total 71 students from different institutes attended this seminar.
Dr. Rajesh Patel delivered introductory session. He briefed all about sessions to be followed and gave overview of condition monitoring and its importance.
Dr. Sandeep Yadav, Assistant Professor, IIT Jodhpur, Rajasthan was the next speaker. He highlighted on topics related with "Condition monitoring using machine learning and IoT". Concepts related to algorithms of signal processing, machine learning & IoT and its applications in condition monitoring.
Dr. Ketan Badgujar, Professor & Head, SSEC, Bhavnagar, was the next expert to deliver talk on "Fault Diagnosis of Transformer". Participants had chance to learn and interact with him and understood concepts related to current scenario of transformer testing and fault diagnosis methods.
